Injuries Increasing due to Safety Gates at the Top of Stairs

As parents, we think we are doing the right thing by installing baby gates to the top of stairs. Although according to a study published online yesterday in the Journal of Academic Pediatrics, almost 1,800 U.S children are hospitalized every year due to injuries from collapsed gates or children climbing on the gates. Most of the injuries were not serious but more of the injuries involve boys than girls.
